About Pyrausta laticlavia Grote & Robinson, 1867
Pyrausta laticlavia, commonly known as the southern purple mint moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. This species is distributed from New Jersey southward to Florida, and westward to Texas, Oklahoma, and California. In California, it has recently expanded its range northward, reaching the San Francisco Bay area by 1990 and the Sacramento Valley by 1993. Its wingspan measures approximately 17 mm. The adult moth flies between June and August, with flight timing varying by location. Larvae of this species have been successfully reared on Rosmarinus officinalis.
