Pyralis regalis is a species of snout moth first described by Denis & Schiffermüller in 1775. This moth has a wingspan of 16 to 20 millimeters. Its distribution ranges across most of Europe, excluding Ireland, Great Britain, Portugal, the Benelux countries, Germany, and Norway, and extends eastward into Asia, where it occurs in China, Cambodia, Myanmar, India, Russia, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Adult Pyralis regalis are active in flight from June through September. In Japan, the larvae of this species have been recorded inside wasp honeycombs.
