About Pycnonotus dispar (Horsfield, 1821)

Pycnonotus dispar, also known as the ruby-throated bulbul, measures 17 to 20 centimeters in length. It is virtually crestless, with a black head, deep red throat, greenish-yellow back and wings, yellow underparts, and a greenish-black tail. Both its bill and legs are black. This species inhabits forest and dense scrub environments. It builds its nests in bushes, and a typical clutch contains two to four eggs. The ruby-throated bulbul feeds on fruit and insects.
