Ptilomacra senex, described by Walker in 1855, is a species of carpenter moth belonging to the family Cossidae. Members of this species are commonly known as "Wood Moths". This moth is found in the southeast quarter of mainland Australia, specifically occurring in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia. Adult Ptilomacra senex have a patterned combination of light and dark fawn coloration on their wings, and their approximate wingspan measures 10 cm.
