Ptilodon cucullina, commonly called the maple prominent, is a moth species that belongs to the family Notodontidae. It was first formally described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermüller in 1775. This species is found in Europe. The wingspan of adult Ptilodon cucullina ranges from 35 to 40 mm. Adult moths are in flight from May to July, with flight timing varying by location. The larvae of this species feed on Acer campestris, and sometimes also feed on Acer pseudoplatanus.
