Pterygoplichthys ambrosettii, sometimes called the snow king pleco, is a species of armored catfish. It is native to south-central South America. This species occurs in the Río Plata basin, specifically in the Paraguay, Middle Paraná, Bermejo, and Uruguay rivers. Its range covers parts of Paraguay, Bolivia, north and northeast Argentina, and western Uruguay. It is a characteristic species of the lower Paraná freshwater ecoregion.
