Pterothrixidia is a monotypic genus of snout moths, which was described by Hans Georg Amsel in 1954. This genus contains only one species, Pterothrixidia rufella, that was described by Philogène Auguste Joseph Duponchel in 1836. This species has a wingspan of around 27 to 28 millimeters, and it can be found in France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, the Balkan Peninsula, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Iran.
