About Pterorhinus sannio (Swinhoe, 1867)

The white-browed laughingthrush has the scientific name Pterorhinus sannio, originally described by Robert Swinhoe in 1867. It is a bird species belonging to the family Leiothrichidae. Its documented range includes China, Hong Kong, India, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. This species was historically classified in the genus Garrulax. After a comprehensive molecular phylogenetic study was published in 2018, it was reclassified and moved to the resurrected genus Pterorhinus.
