This species is found in Europe, and occurs across a broad range of European territories. Confirmed and reported distribution includes Albania, Andorra, Austria (excluding central Austria), Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France (mainland France and Corsica), Germany (southwestern Germany), Greece (mainland Greece, Corfu, and Rhodes), Hungary, Italy (mainland Italy, Sardinia, with an unlikely presence in Sicily), Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal (the westernmost part of the country), Romania, Russia (central and southern European Russia), Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (mainland Spain), Switzerland, the European portion of Turkey, and Ukraine. Occurrences in Armenia and Azerbaijan have not been confirmed.
