About Ptelea aptera Parry

Ptelea aptera, commonly called the wingless ptelea, is a small flowering shrub native to Baja California, Mexico. Its range is adjacent to the more northerly distribution of Ptelea crenulata, also known as the western hoptree. Among the three recognized Ptelea species, Ptelea aptera appears to have the smallest distribution. It occurs almost entirely within the Baja California region, and is predicted to be at risk of extinction.
