The crimson-fronted barbet, scientifically named Psilopogon rubricapillus (J.F.Gmelin, 1788), has predominantly green plumage and wings. It features a blue band running down the side of its head and neck, and a black crescent shape located behind the eye. This species reaches 15 cm (5.9 in) in total length, and has a short neck, large head, and short tail. It forages for fruit and insects, nests inside tree holes, and lays between 2 and 4 eggs per clutch.
