About Psilogaster loti (Ochsenheimer, 1810)

Psilogaster is a monotypic moth genus in the family Lasiocampidae, first described by Reichenbach in 1817. Its only species is Psilogaster loti, originally described by Ferdinand Ochsenheimer in 1810. This species is found in south-western Europe and North Africa. It has a wingspan measuring 27 to 35 mm. The larvae feed on multiple species of Cistus: Cistus salvifolius, Cistus albidus, Cistus populifolius, Cistus ladanifer, Cistus laurifolius, and Cistus clusii. They may also feed on Rosmarinus officinalis and Helianthemum.
