About Pseudophilautus microtympanum (Günther, 1858)

Pseudophilautus microtympanum, which is also called Gunther's bubble-nest frog or small-eared shrub frog, is a species of frog belonging to the family Rhacophoridae. This species is endemic to the central hills of Sri Lanka. Its natural habitats include both closed-canopy and open-canopy environments. Sub-adult and juvenile individuals of this species are more commonly found in grassland and disturbed habitats, while adult frogs typically occur in closed-canopy habitats. Pseudophilautus microtympanum is threatened by habitat loss, agrochemical pollution, and desiccation of its habitat.
