This species, currently classified as Pseudomallada edwardsi (Banks, 1940), has also been referred to as Apertochrysa edwardsi. It has a wingspan ranging from 12 to 25 mm (0.5 to 1 inch). Distinctive V-shaped markings appear on its thorax. It is distributed in southern Australia. It is mostly arboreal, meaning it lives primarily in trees, and is rarely found growing on crops.
