About Pseudocolochirus violaceus (Théel, 1886)

Sea apple is the common name for colorful, somewhat round sea cucumbers that belong to the genus Pseudocolochirus. These sea cucumbers are found in Indo-Pacific waters. They are filter feeders that have tentacles, ovate bodies, and tube-like feet. Like many other holothurians, sea apples can release their internal organs or a toxin into the water when they experience stress.
