Pseudanomodon attenuatus (synonym Anomodon attenuatus) is commonly known by the common names tree-skirt moss, poodle moss, and anomodon moss. This moss species is classified in either the family Neckeraceae or the family Anomodontaceae, depending on the taxonomic authority. It has a wide-ranging distribution, occurring from Canada through eastern United States (where it is particularly abundant) to Central America, and also growing in the Caribbean, Europe (it is commonly found in the Yorkshire Dales of the United Kingdom), and Asia (including India, eastern Russia, and Turkey).
