About Pseudagrion aureofrons Tillyard, 1906

Pseudagrion aureofrons, commonly called the gold-fronted riverdamsel or gold-fronted sprite, is a species of damselfly in the family Coenagrionidae. This species reaches a body length of 36 millimeters. Gold-fronted riverdamsels inhabit areas near running or still water, and typically fly close to the water surface, sometimes resting on floating material. While they are not as abundant as their relative the blue riverdamsel, they are easily recognized by their golden-yellow faces and thorax. The species has a fairly common conservation status. On sunny days, they can be found cruising above water along slow-flowing sections of creeks. This damselfly is distributed across multiple Australian states and territories: Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia.
