About Psammodynastes pictus Günther, 1858
Psammodynastes pictus, commonly known as the painted mock viper or spotted mock viper, is a species of snake with the scientific name Psammodynastes pictus Günther, 1858. It is native to Southeast Asia. The type locality of this species is listed as Borneo and, incorrectly, India. Within Borneo, the species occurs in Brunei, East Malaysia, and Kalimantan. It is also found across the Malay Peninsula, including Singapore, and on the Indonesian islands of Sumatra, Belitung, Bangka, Simeulue, as well as in Indonesia's Riau Archipelago.
