Psaltoda aurora, first formally described by William Lucas Distant in 1881, has a forewing length of 50 to 62 millimeters. This species is distributed in Queensland, Australia, ranging from the Windsor Tablelands west of Paluma, south to Rockhampton and the Dawson River. It can be found in dry sclerophyll forest, as well as in populations of eucalypts that grow on rainforest margins and along river edges.
