About Prunus obtusata Koehne

Prunus obtusata Koehne, known by the Chinese names 细齿稠李 and 台灣稠李, is a species of bird cherry. It is native to Tibet, southern China, and Taiwan, and prefers growing at elevations between 800 and 3600 meters. It grows as a tree that usually reaches 6 to 20 meters in height. Its flowers, which have white petals, are arranged in racemes. When mature, the fruit of this species is black. In its ecosystem, the young leaves of Prunus obtusata are eaten by the endangered Guizhou snub-nosed monkey, Rhinopithecus brelichi.
