About Prunus incana (Pall.) Batsch
Prunus incana (Pall.) Batsch is commonly called willow leaf cherry, and is also referred to as hoary cherry, though this common name is also used for Prunus canescens. It is a species of sour cherry native to the Caucasus region of central Asia, where its distribution includes Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and Iran. It is a scrubby plant that typically grows on limestone cliffs at elevations ranging from 360 to 2400 meters. It is used as a rootstock for the peach, Prunus persica.
