About Protambulyx eurycles Herrich-Schäffer, 1854

Protambulyx eurycles, first described by Herrich-Schäffer in 1854, is similar in appearance to Protambulyx euryalus. It can be distinguished from that species by its much broader forewing marginal band, which has a crenulated proximal edge. Females of this species have less prominent dark markings than males. This species has been recorded in Suriname, Guyana, French Guiana, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Mexico.
