About Protaetia aurichalcea (Fabricius, 1775)

Protaetia aurichalcea is a species of flower-chafer beetle belonging to the family Scarabaeidae. This species is found across Asia. The base body color of the beetle is bronze, and it bears white markings on its elytra. In males, the apical angles of the elytra are spiny, which form a visible raised ridge running along the elytral suture. Like other flower chafers, adult individuals of this species visit flowers, but they are also known to occasionally enter beehives to feed on the stored pollen that bees have collected there.
