About Pristimantis paisa (Lynch & Ardila-Robayo, 1999)
Male Pristimantis paisa have a snout–vent length of 20–24 mm (0.79–0.94 in), while females measure 28–31 mm (1.1–1.2 in). This species does not have a prominent tympanum. Its fingers and toes have discs and lateral keels, but no webbing. The skin is smooth, and the typical coloration is drab brown with no well-developed patterns.
Pristimantis paisa lives in Andean cloud forests and páramo, found at elevations between 1,800–3,100 m (5,900–10,200 ft) above sea level. It is a nocturnal species that needs high moisture conditions. It is a fairly common frog that can survive in secondary forest and wet pastureland. Local populations can be threatened by ranching and agricultural activities, and the species does not occur within any protected areas.
