About Prinia molleri Bocage, 1887

The São Tomé prinia, with the scientific name Prinia molleri Bocage, 1887, is a bird species belonging to the family Cisticolidae. This species is endemic to the nation of São Tomé and Príncipe, and it occurs only on the island of São Tomé. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, as well as subtropical or tropical moist shrubland. It is mainly found in open habitats and along forest edges. José Vicente Barbosa du Bocage formally described and named this species in 1887. The São Tomé prinia frequently carries out short aerial displays.
