About Prinia hypoxantha (Sharpe, 1877)
The Drakensberg prinia, scientifically named Prinia hypoxantha (Sharpe, 1877), measures 12–14 cm (4.7–5.5 in) in length. It has short rounded wings, a moderately long tail, strong legs, and a short straight black bill. It has a whitish eyebrow on its head, and the rest of its upperparts are brown. Its throat and lower face are whitish with no streaking, while the remaining underparts are yellowish with dark streaking. Its long tail has a dark spot near the tip and is usually held cocked upward at an angle. Its feet and legs are pinkish-brown, and its eye is pale. Males and females have identical plumage, but juvenile Drakensberg prinias are paler on their underparts than adults. The calls of this species are a sharp repeated chleet-chleet-chleet-chleet-chleet-chleet, and a fast buzzy repeated tit-tit-tit-tit-tit. The only species it is likely to be confused with is the closely related Karoo prinia, which differs by having less yellow underparts with heavier spotting.
