About Primula minima L.

Primula minima L., commonly called the fairy primrose (a name it also shares with Primula malacoides), is a species of flowering plant in the Primulaceae family. It is native to the eastern Alps, the Carpathians, and the Balkan mountain ranges. Despite being a high-elevation species, it depends on seed dispersal much more than it does on clonal propagation, which is greater than would be expected for a plant with this growth habit. This species is occasionally available for purchase from commercial plant suppliers.
