Prasium, commonly known as white hedge-nettle, is a genus of flowering plants in the mint family Lamiaceae. This genus was first formally described in 1982, and it contains only one known species: Prasium majus. This species was first described for modern scientific classification in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus, with the full scientific name Prasium majus L. Prasium majus is native to Madeira, the Canary Islands, and the Mediterranean region spanning Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, reaching as far east as Turkey, Cyprus, and Israel.
