About Potentilla santolinoides (A.Gray) Greene

Potentilla santolinoides is a perennial herb that can look quite different from many other mousetails. Its leaves are each composed of numerous tiny leaflets that overlap tightly, forming a woolly, taillike cylindrical leaf that can grow up to 10 centimeters long. The plant produces an erect, leafless stem that reaches up to 40 centimeters in height, and this stem holds an inflorescence of flowers. Each flower grows up to 8 millimeters wide, with large round white petals sitting above much smaller pointed sepals. Each flower also contains 15 stamens and a single pistil.
