About Potentilla gordonii (Hook.) Greene

Potentilla gordonii is a tuft-forming perennial plant that grows in rocky areas. It forms a clump of erect stems and tail-like leaves. Each leaf is made up of small, thick, overlapping, green, lobed leaflets arranged in a rounded strip. The thin, leafless stems grow between 5 and 25 centimetres (2.0 to 9.8 inches) tall. These stems hold hairy, glandular inflorescences made up of clustered flowers. Each flower has five yellow-green triangular sepals and five tiny, spoon-shaped yellow petals. Five stamens and a few thread-like pistils are located at the opening of the flower.
