Postia ptychogaster, commonly called the powderpuff bracket, is a fungus species that belongs to the family Fomitopsidaceae. It can be found in Europe and North America. This fungus grows on stumps and rotting conifer wood logs, and in its fruiting stage it has the appearance of a powdery cushion. In this specific life cycle stage, the entire "cushion" structure is made up of a mass of chlamydospores.
