About Porthidium yucatanicum (Smith, 1941)
This species, scientifically named Porthidium yucatanicum (Smith, 1941), has adult individuals that typically measure 35–45 cm (13+3⁄4–17+3⁄4 inches) in total length. Some specimens may grow longer than 55 cm (21+3⁄4 inches), and females are generally larger than males. It is moderately stout-bodied and terrestrial. This species occurs in the northern half of the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico. Its designated type locality is Chichen Itza, Yucatán, Mexico.
