About Porthidium dunni (Hartweg & Oliver, 1938)

Adults of Porthidium dunni usually measure 30–40 cm (11+3⁄4–15+3⁄4 in) in total length including the tail, with a maximum recorded total length of 57 cm (22+1⁄2 in). This is a moderately stout, terrestrial species, and the tip of its snout is moderately elevated. Porthidium dunni is distributed in the Pacific lowlands of Oaxaca and western Chiapas in southern Mexico. Its given type locality is the immediate vicinity of the village of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico. The species' preferred natural habitat is forest. Porthidium dunni reproduces via ovoviviparity.
