About Porlieria chilensis I.M.Johnst.

Porlieria chilensis I.M.Johnst. is a species of flowering plant in the Zygophyllaceae family. It is endemic to Chile, where it goes by the common names Guayacán and palo santo. Like all other members of its genus Porlieria, which are native to South America, this species grows as a small tree or shrub. Its natural distribution in Chile ranges between the Coquimbo and O'Higgins Regions. One recorded location where P. chilensis grows is in the arid forested area of central Chile, where it grows alongside the endangered Chilean wine palm, Jubaea chilensis.
