About Pomacentrus coelestis Jordan & Starks, 1901

Adults of this species reach a maximum total length of 9 centimetres (3.5 inches). They have 13 dorsal spines, 13 to 15 soft dorsal rays, 2 anal spines, and 14 to 15 soft anal rays. The body of this fish is blue. This species occurs in the Indo-Pacific region. In the Indian Ocean, it is found in Sri Lanka, the Andaman Sea, Indonesia, and Australia. In the Pacific Ocean, it ranges from Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Japan, east across Pacific islands to Hawaii. It inhabits depths between 1 and 20 metres (3.3 to 65.6 ft). Adult individuals live in coral reefs and lagoons.
