Polyzosteria mitchelli (Angas, 1847) is a wingless, dorsally flattened insect. Its typical coloration is blue and yellow, making it one of the most strikingly colored Australian cockroach species. This species occurs primarily in semi-arid regions across Western Australia, South Australia, and New South Wales. When disturbed, P. mitchelli releases a pungent defensive fluid from glands located in its abdomen.
