This species, scientifically named Polydrusus impressifrons Gyllenhal, 1834, shares a similar overall appearance with Polydrusus formosus. Compared to P. formosus, P. impressifrons is smaller, paler, and has a broader head. Adult P. impressifrons beetles are pale green-blue in color, with a pattern of lines and dots on their backs. Adults reach a total body length of 0.15–0.22 inches, which equals 3.8–5.6 mm.
