Pollia japonica Thunb. is a perennial flowering plant. It is called East Asian pollia in English, yabumyoga (ヤブミョウガ) in Japanese, and dùruò (杜若) in Chinese. This species is native to East Asia, where it grows in forests at altitudes between 0 and 1200 meters. In China, it is native to Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Sichuan Provinces. It can also be found in Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.
