About Pollia crispata (R.Br.) Benth.

Pollia crispata is a perennial herb that grows in rainforests and rainforest margins across eastern Australia. Its geographic range extends from near Nowra, New South Wales, north to tropical Queensland. The specific epithet "crispata" comes from Latin and translates to "wavy". This species was first described by Robert Brown, with the type specimen recorded as "(J.) v.v.". Its original publication appeared in Robert Brown's 1810 work Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae et Insulae Van Diemen. Later, systematic botanist George Bentham reclassified this species and placed it into the genus Pollia, giving it its current accepted scientific name: Pollia crispata (R.Br.) Benth.
