Polistes parametricus Buck, 2012 is a species of paper wasp that was first formally described in 2012. Before its formal description, it was recognized as a member of the Polistes fuscatus species group, which also includes Polistes fuscatus, Polistes metricus, and Polistes bellicosus. This species is listed as "species B" in the Identification Atlas of the Vespidae of the Northeastern Nearctic Region, and is recorded as Polistes sp. Buck2 in NCBI Taxonomy. It is suspected to be an obligate parasite of other social wasps, though this parasitic behavior has not yet been confirmed through documented observation.
