Pogonognathellus longicornis is a very large springtail species, with individuals growing up to 9 millimeters in length. This species has antennae that are much longer than its body, and these antennae break easily. It can be identified by the filament of its empodium extending past the claw on its foot. Its body is grey-brown, with blue pigment present on its femur. Pogonognathellus longicornis is distributed in Western Europe, and has been recorded in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
