About Podosphaera pannosa (Wallr.) de Bary
Podosphaera pannosa (Wallr.) de Bary is a plant pathogen that causes powdery mildew on plants belonging to the rose family. The optimal environmental conditions for this rose powdery mildew fall between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius, with the best temperature for fungal growth being 23 degrees Celsius in shaded locations. This fungus does not require water to germinate and infect roses. Prolonged excess water on plant surfaces inhibits its growth and can even kill its spores. Rose powdery mildew can grow anywhere that roses can grow, and has been found in locations ranging from China to the United States.
