The Cretan wall lizard (Podarcis cretensis) is a lacertid lizard endemic to Crete, recognized as a distinct species since 2008.
Podarcis cretensis, commonly called the Cretan wall lizard, is a species of lacertid lizard that is endemic to Crete, including its surrounding satellite islands. Before 2008, this lizard was classified as a subspecies of Podarcis erhardii. Genetic analysis later confirmed that it is a distinct separate species, and is closely related to Podarcis peloponnesiacus.
