About Podalia albescens (Schaus, 1900)

Podalia albescens is a moth species belonging to the family Megalopygidae. It was first described by William Schaus in 1900. This species is found in Brazil. It has a wingspan of approximately 48 millimeters. The body of Podalia albescens is white, marked with transverse dark grey lines. Its forewings are white, with a number of dark grey spots at the base, plus an inner transverse row of smoky black spots that extends along the costa to the end of the cell. The forewings also have a narrow grey outer band that is partly obsolete and broken by the veins, a subterminal row of large grey spots that are partially filled with white, and a terminal row of dark grey spots. The hindwings are white, with a terminal row of small grey spots.
