About Poa macrantha Vasey

Poa macrantha Vasey is a perennial grass that grows in loose clumps, with stems reaching a maximum height of 60 centimeters. This grass grows from a network of very long, stout rhizomes and stolons that can measure up to 4 meters in length. These structures anchor the grass in its shifting sandy growing substrate. Its inflorescence is a dense arrangement of clustered spikelets, which are flattened and longer than they are wide. This species is dioecious: male and female individual plants produce different flower types, though the two flower types look similar to one another.
