About Ploceus galbula Rüppell, 1840

Rüppell's weaver, with the scientific name Ploceus galbula Rüppell, 1840, is a bird species belonging to the family Ploceidae. This species is native to the northern Afrotropics, and it is named after German zoologist and explorer Eduard Rüppell, who lived from 1794 to 1884. Its range extends from Sudan to Somalia and extreme northern Kenya, and it also occurs in the south-western Arabian Peninsula. In the mountains of Degua Tembien in northern Ethiopia, this species can be observed in bushy and shrubby areas.
