Pleurophyllum speciosum Hook.fil., commonly called the giant emperor daisy or Campbell Island daisy, is a megaherb that is native to the Auckland and Campbell Islands of New Zealand. A false-colour image of this species appears in the lower left corner on the reverse side of the current New Zealand five-dollar banknote. This plant, also known as the Campbell Island daisy, was first formally described by Joseph Dalton Hooker in his 1844 publication Flora Antarctica. Hooker collected the species during the Ross expedition.
