About Plestiodon copei (Taylor, 1933)
Plestiodon copei, described by Taylor in 1933, is commonly known as Cope's skink. It is a species of lizard belonging to the family Scincidae, and it is endemic to Mexico. This species is native to central Mexico, where it occurs in the Distrito Federal, as well as the Mexican states of México, Morelos, Michoacán, Puebla, and Veracruz. Its preferred natural habitat is pine forest and pine-oak forest. P. copei reproduces via viviparity, meaning it gives birth to live young.
