About Plestiodon chinensis (Gray, 1838)
Plestiodon chinensis, commonly known as the Chinese blue-tailed skink, is a large, stout lizard species. It has an average snout-to-vent length of 13 centimeters, with a total body length reaching 35 centimeters. This species has a broad head and a pale white underside. Juvenile and mature individuals have distinct coloration: as juveniles mature, their color changes from dark brown with three light dorsal stripes and a blue tail, to the brownish green coloration of full adults, which also has reddish spots along the flanks.
