About Pleopeltis michauxiana (Weath.) Hickey & Sprunt
Pleopeltis michauxiana, which has common names including resurrection fern, scaly polypody, and Gray's polypody, is an epiphytic fern species native to North America and Central America. Its confirmed distribution covers the lower Midwest and Southeastern United States, Mexico, and Guatemala. It is the most widespread epiphytic fern found across North America. While it most often grows on trees, it can less commonly grow on other substrates, including rock, most frequently limestone or sandstone, mossy banks, and man-made objects such as fences and buildings.
